In 2003, the highest GPA-5 was introduced. The GPA system began in 2001 with its door in the SSC examination. It was inaugurated at the HSC level in 2003. The SSC and HSC level exam results were figured by the Division system before this grading system.
From 2001, the education board worked on three different options for grading procedures. The methods of examination were inaugurated from the Junior School Certificate examination.
